Elder Care • Trauma Counselling • Community Support
For over two decades I have worked directly with elderly residents and vulnerable community members, providing psychosocial support, coordinating welfare programmes, and helping people navigate difficult moments with dignity and care.
I spent 22 years at The Salvation Army's Ephraim Zulu Senior Citizen Centre in Mandeni, working as a Social Auxiliary Worker under the guidance of qualified social workers. My work centred on the daily wellbeing of elderly residents — running therapeutic programmes, facilitating group sessions, and providing individual support during difficult times.
My training in trauma counselling and family therapy deepened my ability to respond appropriately during crises, debrief individuals after traumatic incidents, and support families through complex situations. I also handled the administrative side of social work — compiling monthly reports, assisting residents with ID and grant applications, and maintaining accurate programme records.
I am available immediately and open to roles in elder care, social auxiliary work, community support, or related welfare services across KwaZulu-Natal.
I am open to permanent, contract, or community-based roles in social auxiliary work, elder care, trauma support, or related welfare services in KwaZulu-Natal.
